October 10, 2020 - The City of Calgary recently reached an exciting milestone having completed a 1,000km paved pathway, touted as the most extensive urban cycling network in North America.
A unique aspect of the pathway is its connectivity, highlighted by the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway, a 138km system that circles Calgary and connects over 55 neighbourhoods.
A “missing links” program identifies and constructs new regional pathway links, connecting existing sections of the network.
The multi-modal system allows riders to experience a number of hidden gems around the city, such as glacier rocks, historic trees, natural springs and plenty of wildlife. For more information, visit www. calgary.ca.
