October 28, 2021 - Canadian mobility experts Melissa and Chris Bruntlett have written a second book, Curbing Traffic: The Human Case for Fewer Cars in Our Lives, that has been widely acclaimed.
Originally based in Vancouver, BC, they now live in Delft, Netherlands. The new book chronicles their experience living in cycling-friendly Holland and the benefits that result from treating cars as visitors rather than owners of the road.
The duo became unofficial ambassadors for Dutch cities with their first book, Building the Cycling City: The Dutch Blueprint for Urban Vitality.
Curbing Traffic is a must-read for city planners, public officials and citizen activists, as it outlines the benefits of low-car cities from lower anxiety and stress to increased independence, social autonomy, inclusion, and improved mental and physical well-being.
Published by Island Press, it’s available through Marston Book Services, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and independent booksellers.
