October 28, 2021 - In late March, Purolator announced the arrival of e-cargo bikes and electric delivery trucks in Vancouver, becoming the first major Canadian courier company to launch its new green fleet nationally.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Purolator has seen residential deliveries grow by approximately 50%. The move to an electric fleet is designed to provide sustainable solutions to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
In addition to reducing truck traffic and noise pollution, the new e-fleet will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 24 metric tons per year (per vehicle).
In Purolator’s recent Corporate Social Responsibility Report, the company underscored its commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050.
