October 10, 2020 - On July 1, The Hague in Holland opened the world’s second-largest bicycle parking facility in front of the city’s Central Station in the basement of a huge building yet to be constructed. With room for about 8,000 bicycles, including non-standard bikes such as cargo bikes, there are also 600 rental bikes available.
Bright and spacious, with back-lit glass walls that feature iconic buildings in the city, and electronic smart directional markings, the ultra-modern garage looks like a futuristic airport.
The facility, which cost over 42 million euros, features free parking for the first 24 hours and a QR code system that assists in helping you find your bike.
Utrecht Central Station, also in Holland, opened last year and boasts the world’s largest bicycle parking facility with space for 12,656 bikes.
