eSystems – Brose for 2024
October 22, 2023 - At Eurobike in Frankfurt, Brose presented its new 48-volt system with Drive3, providing 410% of assistance up to a maximum speed of 25kph. The company’s future e-drive flagship, it will be available in 2024, featuring a more compact design for optimized integration of components such as the drive unit, display and battery pack.

The new Brose Battery 48V has an energy storage capacity of 814Wh and can be fully charged in three to four hours. This battery is equipped with a premium aluminum housing and is removable for flexible wheel mounting.

Also new is the 48-volt Brose Control Series with three models — Control Allround, Control Remote and Control Integrate. Offering a range of features for a more natural ride, the streamlined design includes practical, user-friendly ergonomics such as a USB-C port allowing riders to charge their smartphone or access the Brose Service Tool. The Control Remote model is completely wireless and can be used with Integrate for a reduced cockpit.

Brose also debuted its automatic Concept Drive system for infinitely variable gear shifting without any interruptions in torque. The intuitive gear-shifting system ensures riders select the perfect gear in every riding situation for optimum riding experiences.
Perfect for e-cargo bikes, the compact yet powerful new Brose Drive HMag motor, in a magnesium housing, pairs with a 36-volt battery and offers up to 410% of assistance up to 25kph with a maximum load of 250 kilograms. The magnesium version of the drive weighs only 2.9kg and is 500 grams lighter and 15% smaller than the aluminum platform.

With the introduction of the Reman Drive initiative, Brose became the first e-bike drive manufacturer to develop a standard remanufacturing process for its old e-bike drives. The process refurbishes five pre-defined components from irreparable drives. The replacement motors are made available as after-sale products for all drive versions on its magnesium and aluminum platforms, at about half the cost of a new drive, and include a full manufacturer’s warranty.
In addition, the company will be implementing an improved range of products and services in an expanded service network to its partners, both nationally and internationally, including a more comprehensive spare parts portfolio and a wider range of digital and stationary options.
The family-owned company has an objective to become a CO2-neutral operation by 2025 and provides detailed information in its Sustainability Report by the Brose Group, published annually on its website.
