Former Bike Shop Owner Secures €360 Million Annually for Cycling in Ireland

June 26, 2020 - (Dublin, Ireland) The leader of Ireland’s Green Party, Eamon Ryan, a former co-owner of the Belfield Bike Shop in Dublin, has secured a whopping €360 million annually for cycling and walking schemes in the Republic of Ireland for the next five years according to Forbes.

The massive boost for cycling was part of the Green Party’s demands to allow the formation of a coalition government. Ryan was also the founding chairman of the city’s cycling advocacy campaign and came through on his election promise to boost what the country spends on cycling and walking.
