August 26, 2022 - (Les Gets, France) Reigning UCI eMTB World Champions Jérôme Gilloux (FRA) and Nicole Göldi (SUI) defended their rainbow jersey titles today at the fourth edition of the eMTB event at the 2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships held in Les Gets, France.

In the men’s 7-lap race Gilloux opened a gap on the first lap and kept extending it win by 29 sec. over his compatriot, Hugo Pigeon (FRA), who won the silver, while Joris Ryf (SUI) took the bronze. Gilloux’s victory marked the first win for the host nation France.

New to the eMTB format, Peter Sagan (SVK) the triple UCI Road Worlds Champion, battled well but crashed and then slid out in a corner on the final lap to finish 16th overall.
