March 27, 2020 - Dear Gears Valued Friends and Customers. We are in a Province-wide Emergency Situation. Please know that until further notice our stores will remain open to help service those who rely on their bicycles for transportation and getting around.
Despite us being a life-style business, we must not act as a meeting or social place and ask that those interactions are currently reduced. We will fix your bikes and allow you to pickup your fixed bikes, and purchased items, however we are going to limit the traffic in the store to no more than 5 customers in the Canary store and 10 customers in the other 3 locations.
Please only come in with the people required to either pick up a bike or purchase, please do not bring extra family members if it can be helped or ask the rest of the family to wait in the car or outside the shop.
We are suspending closer contact interactions such as bicycle fitting services.
To help minimize contact and to be respectful of social distancing (for both staff and customers), our inventory is organized on our website if you choose not to visit our stores. Customers can interact digitally via “Find The Right Bike” form or our “Live Chat” app, where professional sales associates are standing by to communicate digitally to provide comfortable informative interactions.
We 100% support all of the prevention our Canadian government and health professionals are providing on an hourly basis to flatten the curve.
While Gears Bike Shop remains open to provide essential services as designated by the Office of The Premier of Ontario, we have contracted the services of a healthcare professional to assess and advise on our current Covid 19 precautions at all 4 of our stores. This consultant is a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, holds an undergraduate degree in Labour/Management Relations and is certified in Workplace Assessment.
