Moustache Limited Edition eBikes Inspired by Lucas Beaufort’s Petit Tour de France

November 18, 2021 - The idea of the Petit Tour de France was born in spring 2020. When you are used to changing countries every week, two months of lockdown increased my desire to sail off into the sunset tenfold – exploring France was the best option.Luca

One year of preparation later, I found myself ready for an extraordinary adventure in early July 2021 – crossing France on a Moustache e-bike with two of my best friends.

Lucas Beaufort… we had no idea what lay ahead. ©

Our start was planned for July 10 and would encompass a 20-day journey across 1461 km that separated Normandy, where I currently live, and the Côte d’Azur, where I’m from.

There was a joyful mood despite the persistent gloomy weather as my team arrived to put the last details into place.

On departure day it was raining cats and dogs and we were cold to our bones. With my wife Garance behind in the sweeper car, we had no idea of what lay ahead, but the desire to take off got the upper hand and nothing could stop us.

A rainy start and a puncture greeted us on day one… ©

The first stage was memorable as the longest of our tour – the 85 km initially planned transformed into 105 km. With a puncture after 10km, you say to yourself that it couldn’t be worse.

Our exhausted arrival came after almost 5h15 of pedaling – it was epic, as if we had arrived at the end of the tour when it was actually just the start…
