During her first term, Plante added 400km of bike lanes including the popular REV bike path, and says she wants to continue to make Canada’s second-largest city the envy of the entire world where “… green spaces are many and transit is diversified.” Plante intends to invest $1 billion in public transit.

The leader of Projet Montréal led her main rival and predecessor, Denis Coderre, by more than 13 percentage points, with 52 per cent of the vote. Projet Montréal also obtained a majority, winning 35 of Montreal’s 65 council seats, up two seats from 2017.
