New Specialized “Learn to Ride Again” Ad Fuels eBikes and Pokes Fun at Trump

by ebikes-international.com

May 22, 2020 - With Greenhouse gas emissions plunging 17% during the pandemic, and cycling being touted as a game-changer for movement in cities, and the environment, it’s not surprising that bicycle sales including e-bikes have soared.

Deloitte says an e-bike “radically changes the ethic of a bicycle” and according to Adweek the timing couldn’t be better for Specialized’s new “Learn to Ride Again” ad to promote its electric bike Turbo line.

Designed to re-ignite people’s passion for cycling there’s a serious environmental message as well with a playful jab at U.S. President Donald Trump.

The ad from Specialized’s long-standing agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners is striking and heartfelt. “It’s interesting how this crisis has really re-centered people on what’s important to them,” Specialized founder and CEO Mike Sinyard told Adweek. “Cycling changes lives. It changed mine and so many other people’s.”
