May 7, 2021 - A new cost-benefit study in New Zealand finds that investments in cycling and walking facilities outweigh the costs of building them by ten to one reports Idealog.
The research found that the most important economic benefits were health gains from use of “active transport” vs sitting when driving a car or riding public transport.
Reductions in carbon emissions were modest in comparsion yet were nevertheless valuable in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
