Formed in Aug. 2022 by Porsche and Pon Holdings’ Ponooc Investment B.V., the Stuttgart-based P2 eBike GmbH was expected to launch a new generation of high-end Porsche eMTBs and use drive systems by Porsche eBike Performance GmbH that was also established with Pon following Porsche’s purchase of Fazua GmbH in June of 2022.

It invested in Greyp at the same time that it invested in its sister company, Rimac Automobili. According to a Volkwagen AG press release at the time, “A total of €15 billion will be invested in new technology over the next five years with three billion Euros to be invested in facilities relating to e-mobility.”
