Sentiers du Moulin is a non- profit recreation centre with 40km of mountain biking trails and 20km for winter fatbiking. It can be reached from Québec City in about 20 minutes and offers trails for all skill levels. The on-site restaurant, Buvette du Moulin, offers a mix of food and microbrews, or you can relax after a day of cycling at La Souche Microbrasserie in nearby Stoneham.

A similar distance to the north of Québec City is Empire 47 with 54km of mountain bike trails. The resort is one of the country’s largest fatbiking destinations and provides a well- maintained network of trails for all skill levels. Hiking and private guides are also available, and you can find refreshments, accommodation and water activities at nearby Le Manoir de Lac Delage.

Heading northeast, only 35 minutes from Québec City, you’ll find renowned Mont-Sainte-Anne (MSA), an all-season resort with a global reputation. MSA has 110km of cross-country mountain bike trails for all skill levels and a 25km downhill network. For multi-day adventures at the resort, there are plenty of accommodations and dining options nearby, including campgrounds, hotels and chalets.

There’s even more adventure to be found at Vallée Bras-du-Nord, a wildlife preserve about 45 minutes from Québec City. The site has 100km of mountain biking trails for all skill levels and offers 20km for winter fatbiking. Their mission is to become the leader in mountain biking in eastern North America. There are also on-site opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and hiking, as well as cabins and yurts for an overnight stay.

Skiers may be familiar with Le Massif, in the Charlevoix region, which has the highest vertical drop east of the Canadian Rockies. An hour from Québec City, located right beside the Saint Lawrence River, the popular venue is now offering mountain-bike adventures starting in September. For four weekends, riders can use the gondola to access 20km of mostly downhill trails for all skill levels. Accommodations and food options are also available.

E-bike rentals are available at all venues except Le Massif. You can find more information about the region here.
