Ruff Cycles New BIGGIE Brings the Unique Scrambler Feeling to the World of eBikes

release by Ruff Cycles GmbH

It has long been known that bikes from Ruff Cycles make the urban scene more colorful and eye-catching, and since the collaboration with American TV star Paul Teutul Jr. (American Choppers), it’s common knowledge that Ruff Cycles models are also attracting more and more riders to eBikes.

The stylish cruiser “The Ruffian” and the fun 20″ x 4.0 bike “Lil’Buddy” are now joined by the chic utility “BIGGIE”, strengthening the Regensburg-based bike manufacturer’s unique lineup. The “BIGGIE” is inspired by the design of the Scrambler motorcycles and is equipped with a long, custom-made leather seat.

The handmade frame, combined with the latest Bosch technology and the enviolo continuous drive hub, guarantees the highest quality in addition to unmistakable style. During development, great attention was also paid to comfort, which at the same time allows for a sportier ride. The BIGGIE will be available with 24″ x 3.0 or 26″ x 3.0 tires.

“The goal of the BIGGIE was to put the Ruff Cycles’ DNA into an electric bicycle for everyday riding to expand the range of uses for our customers. We listened to customer feedback during the development process and I think we did a good job. With the BIGGIE, we are expanding our brand and can reach even more cool guys,” says Pero Desnica, founder and CEO of Ruff Cycles.

With additional accessories such as a carry bag, Supernova light sets and a dual battery option, owners can customize their BIGGIE to their own needs. Optional front and rear racks can also be mounted with all standard panniers for even more flexibility.

For the design, like the Lil’Buddy, Ruff Cycles partnered with Aaron Bethlenfalvy. Aaron has been designing bikes since 1994 and is behind countless iconic cruiser models from GT, Cannondale, Schwinn and Mongoose.

Like all Ruff Cycles electric bikes, the “BIGGIE” is assembled in their own workshop in Regensburg. The hand- welded frames come from the company’s own production in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

When sales start, the BIGGIE will be available in cream, silver and black. Prices are expected to start at $4,999 in Canada and $3,999 US in the USA. Starting in 2022, the BIGGIE will be available at www.ruff-cycles.com and through listed Ruff Cycles dealers.
