eCargo Bike Sales up 43% in Germany in 2020 as Segment Cracks 100,000 Units

March 22, 2021 - According to Germany’s two-wheel industry association, ZIV (Zweirad-Industrie-Verband eV), e-cargo bike sales are booming with an impressive 43 percent increase in 2020 reports Cargobike.jetzt.

Non-motorized cargo bike sales were up 19% over the previous year as the segment cracked the 100,000 mark for the first time with 103,200 units sold in 2020. Over three quarters of these were models with an electric motor as the trend continues to rise..

In 2020, 43.4% more e-bikes were sold than in 2019 and overall bicycle sales in Germany rose by a total of 17 percent to 5.04 million in 2020.
