January 7, 2026 - We are thrilled to share the publication of an academic article based on our annual bicycle count, #PedalPollSondoVelo in Science Direct’s Journal of Cycling and Micromobility Research.

Based on data generated by hundreds of volunteers from count sites across Canada—in communities ranging from 20,000 to over 6 million people—the evidence is clear:
• Infrastructure Matters: We found significantly higher cycling rates where “high-comfort” infrastructure is available.
• Access is Essential: Cycling activity increases where there is greater accessibility to key destinations.
• Efficiency: Cycling remains the most sustainable and space-efficient urban transport mode, especially in constrained environments.
