Stop Ontario’s Bill 60 vs Cycling: 3 Actions You Can Take Right Now and Ride With Us On Nov. 22

release by Cycle Toronto

November 21, 2025 - The province is rushing its latest omnibus through legislation, Bill 60, Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, bypassing committees and shutting down public debate. As the Biking Lawyer notes this approach is a deliberate strategy of “flooding the zone” to distract and confuse in the hopes that real debate and opposition is drowned out.

Bill 60 is an escalation of Bill 212’s attack on evidence based decision making that would prohibit any municipality in Ontario from reducing motor vehicle lanes to build new bike lanes.

Planned cycling projects like Parkside Drive, Dupont Street, and the Danforth Avenue extension won’t be possible if Bill 60 becomes law.

And the wording is so broad that it could block bus priority lanes, patios and cafes, school streets, and other street improvements that rely on reallocating space from cars to people.

Here are three actions you can take:
1. Submit a comment to the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO)
The ERO is where the province is required to accept public input on major policy changes. Comments here become part of the public record, and those comments matter.

Submit your comments here.

Whether you bike daily, occasionally, or just want more convenient transportation options and more vibrant communities for your family, share why safe infrastructure matters to you and your community.

Comments close November 22 at 11:59 pm.

2. Ride with us on Saturday!

Join us in solidarity with tenant and housing advocates across Ontario meeting at Queen’s Park on National Housing Day to stop Bill 60!

With your support, we can keep pushing back against this bullying culture war and fight for a healthier, more vibrant city.

Together we’ll win against this attack on our collective rights, and build healthier communities for folks to live, work, and play.
