July 18, 2024 - According to a study by the NYC Department of Transport, local stores by a protected bike lane saw a 49% increase in sales, compared to an average of 3% for Manhattan reported Fast Company.
A Portland, Oregon study showed that, “… auto drivers spent the lowest amount per person/per month when compared to those who biked, walked, or took transit.”
In addition, an Oregon study measuring the impact of bike tourism found that, “vacationing bikers spent $400 million, and secured 4,600 jobs and $18 million in tax receipts.”
