February 6, 2020 - The new Tern HSD is an eBike with so many features and options, it could be described as the Swiss Army Knife of eBikes. The longer wheelbase and lower center of gravity improves stability and handling, while the font suspension smooths out the ride. The step-through frame, adjustable stem and seat post makes this one size frame fit riders from 4’11” to 6’5”. Equipped with an Abus keyed-alike frame lock, the bike can be flipped upright for vertical parking or elevator rides, and can be flat-folded in 15 seconds to load into bus racks and SUVs. Tern’s top model, the HSD S+ is powered by a 250-watt Bosch Performance Line motor and offers smooth, automatic shifting courtesy of an Enviolo Sport 380 hub and Gates belt drive. Built to haul, it comes stock with Tern’s mammoth Atlas H rear rack with a max carrying capacity of 132 pounds. A slew of accessories are available including a soon to be released rear Passenger Kit that will allow riders to continue carrying their kids as they grow older. Did we mention that it is set up to tow a trailer? SRP is $4,749.
