Test Report: Brule Adventure Gear’s Quality Weekender PanPack for Work or Play

by Chris Redden

September 16, 2021 - Getting away for the weekend is a universal favourite. For cycling fans add in some great trails and bikepacking and you’ve got the makings for a great weekend get-away adventure.

The team at Brule Adventure Gear clearly know something about getting away for an adventure as they’ve designed the perfect pack for a weekend escape with your favourite bike.

Whether gravel, road or e-bike touring, their Weekender PanPack will mount on a standard-sized rear rack with ample capacity to allow for enough gear for any weekend bikepack adventure.

They also know a thing or two about commuting by bike to work or school as the PanPack is perfect for a heavy load at either destination. Once you remove the pack from your bike, it quickly converts via a few connect buckles into a backpack.

The shoulder straps sit unobtrusively on the underside of the pack, yet readily sling onto your back once the PanPack is off the bike, to allow you to comfortably head off to class, or the office, in a jiffy.

Mounting the pack to the rear rack is also quick and easy as the smart design allows it to attach via quick connect buckles and low profile D rings. Once you get the hang of it, the Weekender can be on or off your bike in seconds.

The 33-litre volume capacity means there’s enough room for text books or gear, to get you through your school day or weekend adventure. The 1000 denier coated nylon construction will keep your work documents dry and the YKK zippers with extra-wide rain flaps help in that regard as well. The compression straps on the lower compartments allow for more storage as well.

The construction of the pack has a bespoke feel to it. All of the seems are sewn with a quality that you can see. There are no gaps in the stitching and no sign of a loose thread anywhere. With extras like reflectors on the back facing surface of the bags and the logos stitched onto the bag, you feel like you’re getting real value.

The Weekender PanPack has a sturdy and quality feel to it with rugged nylon construction and premiere stitching so you know it will last for years to come.

Priced at $215 Cdn, Canadian based Brule will also ship the bag to anywhere within Canada for $19. Check it out on their website here.
