June 29, 2023 - On June 26, Toronto voted for change. Almost 50% of voters cast a ballot for a candidate who supported all ten of our road safety priorities, including accelerating the cycling network plan to provide safe and connected bike lanes in every ward.
The city elected its first mayor who rides a bike to work since the 1980s. Over 85% of voters rejected the divisive rhetoric of candidates who tried to use bike lanes as a wedge issue. There is optimism about a new future for our city. And now is the time to turn hope into action.
Help Make Active Transportation a Top Mayoral Priority
By supporting Cycle Toronto, you’re saying that riding a bike should be a viable option for all Torontonians. You’re saying you want a healthy, safe and vibrant cycling city for all. Cities around the world are reshaping their streets. Our chance starts now. Will you support us?
Your donation in June counts more than ever. Every non-membership dollar donated to Cycle Toronto through our webpage here or through the CanadaHelps portal here will be entered into the Great Canadian Giving Challenge.
Any donation made by Friday will automatically give Cycle Toronto the chance to WIN $20,000 during the Great Canadian Giving Challenge.* Every $1 donated counts as an entry–so the more you give, the greater the chances we can win the grand prize to expand our advocacy, education, and encouragement work!
You’ve helped us secure a lot of wins, but we can’t take these successes for granted. We know that cycling is an essential part of the solution to the critical issues facing our city – from the climate crisis to affordability to public health. And the full potential of cycling in Toronto remains unrealized because too many people still don’t feel safe riding a bike for everyday transportation. You’re helping change that.
Make a donation here.
Thanks for your support,
The Cycle Toronto Team
* Minimum $3 donation required. Eligible Charities will automatically receive one (1) entry for each dollar donated to the Eligible Charity through CanadaHelps.org, including the CanadaHelps direct site for Canadians, customizable donation pages (including www.cycleto.ca/donate), P2P, events and other campaign pages created by a registered Canadian charity using the CanadaHelps system, and monthly donations processed during the challenge period (each, an “Entry” or collectively, “Entries”).
