October 19, 2022 - Trek’s new Fuel EXe dual suspension eMTB ushers in a new HPR50 e-drive system with patented harmonic pin-ring technology from TQ Group, a German robotics company. The system forgoes planetary gears and cogs, while utilizing two circular gears that interact via a flexible pin-ring transmitter to deliver 50Nm of torque. Paired with a high-density 360Wh battery, the entire system weighs 3.9kg, the smallest and lightest in its class. The OCLV mountain carbon frame features RockShox suspension, including a 140mm Super Deluxe Select+ rear shock and 150mm Lyrik Select+ front fork. Equipped with a Shimano XT drivetrain and hydraulic brakes, and rolling on 29-inch Bontrager Line 30 wheels, the new Trek Central app allows customization. The SRP is $11,199.
