September 2, 2025 - Founded in 2007, Urban Racks is a micromobility infrastructure company based in Langley, BC, that addresses the pressing issue of bicycle theft by providing secure racks, lockers, and electric charging stations for e-bikes and e-scooters across Canada and the U.S.

In 2021 the company implemented Canada’s first-ever, on-demand, app-activated bike parking managed solution at several TransLink SkyTrain stations and bus exchanges in Vancouver featuring Urban Racks smart lockers and Bikeep smart docks.
Urban Racks’ platform enables users to lock and unlock their bikes via an app, subscribe to lockers, and check parking availability in advance, and that same year the company experienced a 30% growth, underscoring the increasing demand for secure micromobility solutions.

In 2023 a pilot project in downtown Kingston saw 18 Bikeep smart bike docks at three locations become permanent the following year. Other key projects in Ontario include an Urban Parkiteer at Centennial College in Scarborough, and secure bike parking at First Canadian Place, in downtown Toronto.
In 2024, Urban Racks brought its Bikeep smart bike docking stations to The Resort Municipality of Whistler and the City of Kelowna and BC Transit will see smart bike parking amenities installed in 2025.

The company recently announced its supporting partnership with Vélo Canada Bikes, the national voice for cycling advocacy. Since its inception in 2012, Vélo Canada Bikes has been a driving force behind the vision of a more active and bike-friendly Canada.
