Utrecht to Launch Shared Mobility Hubs with 1,400 eBikes and 100 eCargo Bikes

release by the City of Utrecht

July 7, 2021 - As part of a new shared transportation mobility initiative residents of the City of Utrecht will soon be able to access 1,400 e-bikes and electric mopeds along with 100 e-cargo bikes and 600 bicycles via shared hubs in various neighbourhoods throughout the city.

The City of Utrecht will soon offer shared transportation options to its residents for cleaner air along with safer and quieter streets. ©

More and more people are choosing shared transportation options and in this way the air is kept cleaner and streets are quieter and safer. With fewer cars and more bicycles on city streets, there’s more space for greenery and play areas as well.

If more residents share bicycles and cars, there will be fewer vehicles overall on the city which will improve accessibility and reduce the need for parking spaces. In this way the City of Utrecht can be kept safe, pleasant and healthy.

Residents, visitors and employees are asked to think about their choices. Shared mobility hubs will help to keep the city more environment-friendly and accessible.
