August 3, 2023 - Walls on Silkroad eAdventure in Turkey, Iran & Tajikistan on Trek Fuel EXe eMTBs with TQHPR50 A group of adventurers, including professional climber Stefan Glowacz, is embarking on a spectacular journey. Using a converted expedition truck and e-bikes with specially designed self-sufficient bike trailers, they plan to travel to three countries (Turkey, Iran, and Tajikistan) and make first ascents.
“Walls on Silkroad” will take the group from Berchtesgaden, Germany, through Turkey and Iran to Tajikistan, where they will explore new climbing routes. With the help of locals, they will face cultural challenges.
The team is using Trek Fuel EXe bikes and converted bike trailers equipped with TQ technology. This enables the climbers to charge the batteries self-sufficiently via solar power and also to cover greater distances between climbing walls in terrain inaccessible to bigger vehicles.
Stefan Glowacz has made a name for himself worldwide with sensational expeditions and spectacular first ascents. His long-standing collaboration with the TQ team allows him to use innovative technologies to take his adventures to a new level. “This is the perfect combination of equipment, for our unique way of climbing mountains and being on the road,” said Glowacz.
For his current project “Walls on Silkroad” Stefan will be accompanied by his two friends and long-time climbing companions Christian Schlesinger, Josef Pfnür and for the first time by his son Tim, who will film the whole expedition.
Prior to the trip, Stefan and his team paid us a visit at our location in Inning to learn more about the technology that is essential to the success of the expedition. After a tour of our hallowed halls where the TQ-HPR50 is manufactured, every bike was fitted to the rider.
1st leg | From Berchtesgaden to Turkey
The four adventurers have already successfully mastered the first two weeks of the journey and have now arrived at their first destination in Turkey. But this is only the beginning!
With determination and drive, they are now ready to take on the next challenge. Equipped with climbing equipment and e-bikes, they are ready to prepare for the upcoming task in the distant Aladağlar Mountains.
