October 19, 2023 - A growing number of Australians are turning to e-bikes and e-cargo bikes for transportation, given rising gas prices and the high cost of insuring and maintaining cars reports the Guardian.
As the e-bike uptake grows and rental companies like Lug+Carrie spread across Australia, advocates are calling for more bike lanes and financial incentives as well. In 2017 about 9,000 e-bikes were sold in Australia, but more than 100,000 were sold in 2022 and this year’s sales are on track to be even higher.
