August 1, 2026 - (Whistler, BC) The second annual Bosch eMTB Challenge at Crankworx delivered sunny skies and eager riders ready to tackle a tough course that featured five timed sections, including “no-feet” uphill challenges where any foot down incurred a 5-second penalty.
The field saw amateurs, advanced and pro riders for both men and women with an international start list that included some veterans and luminaries such as Jill Kintner, Hans Rey, Andreas Hestler and Crankworx organizer, Darren Kinnaird.
The amateurs were first off at the interval start set-up, and timing was done via bike-mounted transponders, with cumulative stage times determining the final results. No outside assistance was permitted, including battery swaps, which had to be carried by the rider.
In the men’s and women’s Amateur race, top honours went to Paul Sherman (CAN) and Megan Hoodspith (CAN), while the USA’s Jeffrey Kendall Weed took the men’s Advanced win with Sylvie Allen (CAN) taking the women’s victory.
Kera Linn (USA) Cannondale led the charge in the Pro Women’s race, while Portugal’s Emanuel Pombo was the fastest in the Pro Men’s category as the event wrapped up with the podium ceremonies and an iconic champagne shower as part of the celebrations.
The top three riders in the Pro category at each event win prize money consisting of $800 for first place, $600 for second place, and $200 for third place. In addition, the top ten riders at each race earn points that count toward the overall victory in the Bosch eMTB Challenge Pro series, where the grand prize is €3,000, with €2,000 for second place and €1,000 for third.
The 2026 Bosch eMTB Challenge Tour Dates included stops at Riva del Garda, Italy: May 1, 2026; Willingen, Germany: May 30, 2026; Les Arcs, France: June 13, 2026; Davos, Switzerland: June 27, 2026; Whistler, Canada (Crankworx): July 31, 2026; and the series wraps up in Verbier, Switzerland: August 15, 2026.
