NABSA 2021 Shared Micromobility Industry Report Says eBike Trips Doubled to 18.8 Million

August 19, 2022 - In early August, NABSA released the third annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report, the only report of its kind for North America.

E-bike share is up 6% in North America and e-bike trips almost doubled to 18.8 million. ©

According to the 2021 report e-bikes were ridden approximately 36% more than regular pedal bikes and e-bike trips almost doubled from 9.9 million in 2020 to 18.8 million in 2021.

E-bikeshare continued to thrive in 2021 and was present in 50% of North American cities – a 6% increase from 2020. At least 298 cities had at least one bikeshare or e-scooter system and 97 had both.
