NABSA 2021 Shared Micromobility Industry Report Says eBike Trips Doubled to 18.8 Million

In early August, NABSA released the third annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report, the only report of its kind for North America.

E-bike share is up 6% in North America and e-bike trips almost doubled to 18.8 million. ©

According to the 2021 report e-bikes were ridden approximately 36% more than regular pedal bikes and e-bike trips almost doubled from 9.9 million in 2020 to 18.8 million in 2021.

E-bikeshare continued to thrive in 2021 and was present in 50% of North American cities – a 6% increase from 2020. At least 298 cities had at least one bikeshare or e-scooter system and 97 had both.
