Bike Lanes WIN Votes: Municipal Elections in B.C. on Oct. 15 and in Ontario on Oct. 24 – VOTE

With municipal elections around the corner in B.C. and Ontario voters are poised to cast their ballots as candidates scramble to reach constituents and gain their support.

To be sure, from Milan to Montreal, to London, Paris, New York and Detroit, those who have advocated for the reallocation of public space away from motor vehicles to support the mobility of people for walking and cycling, have proven that good urban policy translates into good politics.

Cycling and mobility are top of mind and local advocacy groups in B.C. and Ontario have summarized their wish lists for residents to review to help decide which candidates best meet their needs, and the needs of the communities they’re hoping to represent – because bike lanes win votes.
