“The Bogota Bike Sharing System is a robust system, located in an area of 27 km in the towns of Usaquén, Chapinero, Barrios Unidos, Santa Fe and La Candelaria. It will have 3,300 bicycles and at least 300 stations; it will have 150 manocletas, an accessory so that people who move in wheelchairs can access the system; 150 chairs to transport girls and boys, 150 cargo bikes and 1,500 pedal-assist bicycles,” said Nicolás Estupiñán, Secretary of Mobility in the official press release..

“I am especially proud of this project, which was a proposal in a pioneering format in the world. I am sure that bicycles will be even more present in the routine of the entire population, helping to make trips more efficient, economical and non-polluting, making the city of Bogotá even more democratic and better for everyone,” highlighted Tomás Martins, CEO and co-founder of TemBici.

The System will begin its operation gradually during the second half of 2022 and plans to have the entire bicycle service and stations available by next September.
