Riders take on a challenging course with 1,200m-1,800m elevation gain, navigating a mix of timed stages and untimed transfer segments. The route, revealed the evening prior to the race, features both technical descents and “no-feet” uphill challenges where balance and pedal management are key – any foot down incurs a 5-second penalty.

  • Please read the rules closely to ensure competition with a compliant drive system.
  • This is not a marked course—be sure to download the GPX file the night before for the route.
  • Don’t forget to join us at the After Party in the VIP Section at the Canadian Downhill Final!

Perks
Participation includes access to the VIP area at the Specialized Canadian Open DH (July 31, 2026) with a food and drink voucher.

  • Trackside access like no other with unobstructed views of the final stretch and live screen
  • Stand just feet from the finish area and witness the intensity of the 1199 track first-hand
  • Refreshing cold beverages, catered bites and a full-service cash bar
  • Stress-free transportation with our exclusive VIP shuttles from the Whistler village or Creekside

Details
Participants compete solo across three categories:

  • Amateur
  • Advanced
  • Pro

Timing is done via bike-mounted transponders, with cumulative stage times determining results. There’s no on-course training permitted, so riders must rely on skill, quick learning, and GPS-supported navigation via provided GPX files or a physical map.

Only certified pedelecs (max 32km/h support and 750W) are allowed, with strict rules on equipment and safety. No outside assistance is permitted, including battery swaps, which must be carried by the rider. The challenge emphasizes not just speed, but smart riding, battery strategy, and mechanical self-sufficiency.
