Bradford in UK Launches eCargo Bike Pilot to Offer Greener Options for Businesses

November 19, 2020 - Bradford Council in the UK has launched an e-cargo bike pilot program funded through the Government’s Active Travel Fund to promote greener transport options for businesses, organizations and residents.

The Council selected three styles of e-cargo bikes, two of which will be used by local businesses and organisations, and the other by the Council. The program is off to good start with the Neighbourhood & Customer Services Parks team at Lister Park utilizing the functional e-cargo bike to transport tools, collect leaves and pick up litter.

“The bike is being used instead of a van and it has the advantage of cheaper running costs and being easy to manoeuvre around the park. There is also no noise or air pollution to spoil the tranquil environment of the park or disturb visitors,” according to the Council.
