Canada’s Sartée Bikes Based in Pemberton, B.C. Launches Unique New Cargo Bikes

August 28, 2023 - Sartée Bikes, based in Pemberton, B.C., recently launched their unique new cargo bikes with the idea that, “bikes should be built to last a generation, not a product cycle.”

Sartée offers two models, the S120 Pickup that is currently available, and the S80 Family that folds and is slated for arrival in spring 2024. Both models are available in electric or non-electric set-ups.

Fully assembled at their headquarters in B.C., the company has partnered with another Canadian firm also based in B.C., Grin Technologies, that supplies e-drive systems and components.

The Pickup is ready for personal or commercial use and easily able to switch between carting kids to school or daycare, and hauling gear and cargo. It’s also fully customizable for those that have specific needs outside of its normal specs.

The S120 Pickup e-cargo bike is outfitted with a Grin Tech’s direct drive rear hub motor with 1500W peak output, including their Baserunner controller and 912Wh battery. It also features a Microshift Advent 9-speed rear derailleur, a Suntour Mobie A32 suspension fork with 50mm travel, Tektro 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes and more.

“We build bikes that can be repaired, piece by piece if needed. Our motors use standard 148×12 axle spacing, meaning you can swap it for a non-motorized wheel or another brand’s hub motor anytime. We use press fit bottom bracket shells, so cranks and chainrings will always be available,” states the website.

Founded by avid mountain biker, Jared Sartee, with a background in mechanical engineering at MIT, the company is passionate about the environment as well and supports 1% For the Planet.

Sartée Bikes will also be displaying at the upcoming Fully Charged Show from Sept. 8-10 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
