Cycle Toronto Launches Campaign for Stantec to Rip Up Contract to Remove Toronto Bike Lanes

More than 1,800 emails have been sent to Stantec Consulting Ltd., urging the company to ‘rip up’ its contract with the Ontario provincial government to remove Toronto bike lanes reports TorontoToday.

Local advocacy group, Cycle Toronto, launched a “Shame on you, Stantec” campaign following the announcement by Ontario’s ministry of transportation that Stantec Consulting Ltd. has been contracted to “undertake the design work” to remove portions of the Bloor Street West, Yonge Street and University Avenue bike lanes in Toronto.

Stantec is an international engineering consulting firm that was founded in Edmonton.
