Cycle Toronto Seeks Injunction Against Ontario Premier Ford’s Bill 212 to Remove Bike Lanes

January 23, 2025 - In December, Cycle Toronto launched a Charter challenge against Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s controversial Bill 212 that would allow the province to remove key bike lanes in Toronto, but lawyers for the non-profit will seek an injunction on March 11, requesting a judge block any removals reports TorontoToday.

Cycle Toronto’s suit alleges that the bill violates the Charter rights to life, liberty and security of the person, and the injunction is intended to block any removals from taking place until the full case can be heard on April 16.
