October 18, 2026 - The Véloroute des Bleuets (Blueberry Cycle Route) in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, QC, may be the ideal cycling destination.
Stretching 256km around the majestic Lac Saint-Jean, the Véloroute des Bleuets invites you to discover much more than just a cycling route: it’s a vibrant, welcoming destination with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The route gets its name from the copious amounts of fresh blueberries in August and features endless kilometres of safe bike paths that wind along sandy beaches, past waterfalls, and around a veritable inland sea.
Along the way, you’ll pass through 15 charming towns and the Innu community of Mashteuiatsh, each offering unique cultural experiences, encounters, and scenic views.
Quench your thirst at one of the many microbreweries, or tickle your taste buds at cheese and chocolate shops. Marvel at the endless yellow canola fields in bloom, and let the bell tower of a majestic church guide you to the next picturesque village.

The route also takes you to the heart of Pointe-Taillon National Park, where you can enjoy 48km of protected wilderness and immerse yourself in a peaceful setting, surrounded by forests, beaches, and exceptional wildlife.
Thrill seekers will delight in the region’s more than 150km of mountain bike trails, spread across several sites around the lake. Whether you’re into cross-country, endurance, or downhill riding, you’ll find trails suited to your skill level, all set against breathtaking scenery.
Plus, there are a variety of great services to make your life easier, including luggage shuttles, ferry crossings, and e-bike charging stations.

Back in 2019, Véloroute des Bleuets became the first cycling network in North America to offer a dedicated system of fast- charging stations for electric-assisted bicycles along its route.
Currently, there are seven Vélovoûtes—safe bike parking spots with charging stations—along the route, each with compartments for your accessories.
Beyond cycling, a whole new quality of life awaits you: cozy accommodations, campsites set in nature, charming hotels, and welcoming bed-and-breakfasts line the route, making your stay a true getaway.
Easy to access, safe, and rich in experiences, the Véloroute des Bleuets is a must-visit cycling destination in North America.
Add 65 patrolling bicycle ambassadors, and you might just have found your perfect cycling holiday.
