German Transport Minister Supports Cycling and Trains with Safe Parking

March 2, 2022 - In an interview with Welt, the German Transport Minister, Volker Wissing, said that, “People’s mobility will change completely, and it is my job as Transport Minister to ensure that people see this change as progress.”

He further stated that, “We should make it as attractive and easy as possible for people to ride their (e)bikes to the nearest train station, to be able to park their bikes there safely and then have good train connections.”

Volker believes it’s better to invite than force people to change, “Some believe that you have to force people to behave differently. I believe that you achieve more when you remove problems or obstacles and thus open up opportunities.”
