April 20, 2026 - (Mühltal, GER) Riese & Müller, the premium manufacturer of e-bikes and cargo bikes, will place an even stronger focus on its European core markets in the future. Against this backdrop, the company will cease its business activities in the United States as of July 31, 2026. This decision follows an extensive strategic and economic assessment. Key factors include the persistently challenging and increasingly volatile market conditions in the United States.

At the same time, Riese & Müller will concentrate its resources even more deliberately on further developing its European sales and dealer network. The aim is to unlock market potential in core regions, deepen collaboration with retail partners, and strengthen the company’s market position in a sustainable way. Other overseas markets, such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, are not affected by this decision.
“Given the current circumstances, it is more important than ever for us to focus our efforts on our core markets and strategically bundle our capacities,” says Dr. Sandra Wolf, CEO of Riese & Müller.
“We extend our sincere thanks to our U.S. dealer partners for their outstanding commitment, passion, and many years of trusted collaboration. Our heartfelt thanks also go to our U.S. customers for their long-standing loyalty to Riese & Müller,” says Timo Gührer, Chief Sales Officer.
Transparent transition, reliable service
As part of its withdrawal from the U.S. market, Riese & Müller will support its long-standing dealer partners with a transparent and structured transition. Existing customers will continue to receive reliable support, including the provision of spare parts for Riese & Müller e-bikes and cargo bikes. Even after sales end, dealers will retain access to components, technical documentation, and support services. All existing warranty obligations will remain in full effect and will continue to be fulfilled.
Orders for Riese & Müller e-bikes and cargo bikes can still be placed by U.S. dealers until July 31, 2026. After this date, new product orders will no longer be accepted; available products at U.S. dealers will remain on sale while supplies last.
