Support Cycle Toronto and Save Portland-Dan Leckie Bike Lanes Now Under Attack

release by Cycle Toronto

July 19, 2026 - The recently installed Portland-Dan Leckie bike lanes were approved back in 2024 by City Council after extensive public consultation, but now they are under attack!

These lanes help fill a gap in downtown Toronto’s cycling network offering critical connections to Richmond, Adelaide, Wellington, and the Martin Goodman Trail.

Cycle Toronto believes that bike lanes such as these are critical to the vibrancy and accessibility of our city.

Help us tell the city that we love our communities’ bike lanes. Add your name to show support for the Portland-Dan Leckie bike lanes because:

  • They improve the safety of all road users
  • They provide crucial connections to other bike lanes
  • They help relieve traffic congestion and prioritize more sustainable modes of transportation

Take action here.
